Eight classes 2x’s a week
B.R.A.C.E.S. Breakthroughs Reading Academy August Comprehension will focus on Plot using fictional text along with: Reading Levels A-C
Phonics skills: Short vowels CVC words
Sentence structure: Capital letters and word spacing
Fluency: reading at a conversational pace
Writing: Third step (adding details.)
Handwriting: Letter formation of lowercase and capital letters.
For Comprehension we will use simple and concise language that explains the plot is the sequence of events that happen in a story, focusing on the beginning, middle, and end. We will use:
visual aids: These visual tools can include pictures or symbols representing the characters, setting, and major events of the story.
Retelling and sequencing: we will encourage scholars to retell the story in their own words, emphasizing the main events and their order.
Story elements: such as characters, setting, and problem/resolution.
Engage in discussions: Facilitate discussions with the students by asking open-ended questions about the story.
*Please Note: This program is conducted online in a small group setting with three to four scholars participating in each class.

This engaging class helps scholars use concrete and pictorial models to add and subtract numbers up to 10. If you want your child to develop a number sense foundation this course is excellent for your child. This class is meant for kindergarten scholars with number sense. Teaching addition and subtraction in Kindergarten is an important foundational step in developing students' numeracy skills. This class builds daily counting forward and backwards to at least 10 with and without objects, read & write addition and subtraction sentences using manipulatives and pictorials.

If you want your child to develop addition and subtraction strategies, this course is excellent for your child. This class is meant for first grade scholars with number sense, addition, and subtraction skills up to 10. Teaching addition and subtraction in first grade is an important foundational step in developing students' fluency skills. This class builds daily counting forward and backwards to at least 120 with and without objects, read & write addition and subtraction sentences using manipulatives and pictorials.

The academy is $47 per class for first through third grade.

It depends on what is being covered for the cohort. It can range from six to twelve classes.

Yes, because the value of the content BRACES Breakthroughs receive inside the course is continuously being updated. Current members will be grandfathered in. This means that if you stick around, your price will never change!

Here are the reading materials: Headphones, letters, crayons, scissors, glue, notebooks, leveled readers, and activities to practice during sessions.
Here are the math materials: Headphones, numbers, counters, unifix cubes or base 10 blocks (depends on grade),ten frames, letters, playdough, books, writing paper, dictation journals, crayons, scissors, glue, hundreds chart, and activities to practice during sessions.

Pre-k/Kindergarten through Third grade are 50 minutes in each session twice a week.

ALL classes will be recorded and uploaded into your member area that can only be accessed by the three parents/scholars in that cohort.
